About the Art

Liana Z. Weber is an Austrian/American artist and illustrator who creates highly colorful, realistic, almost macabre color pencil drawings on paper. Her goal is to create works of art that address the cultural constructs of sexuality, power, identity and gender. Weber incorporates imagery  from mythical, religious and historical artistic iconography and replaces the traditional use of female subjectivity with brash unapologetic female figures.  Above all Weber wants to draw thought provoking images that can be easily interpreted and appreciated by anyone, regardless of their background, because she believes the only way to move these conversations forward, is by making the issues generally accessible.
